Generally KLS provides essential legal services to low income individuals to address barriers to self-sufficiency with a focus on increasing the income of clients, protecting client’s housing and family relationships.

It is our mission to help low income Kansans meet their legal needs so they can become self-sufficient. Kansas Legal Services is the only provider of civil legal services for the poor in Kansas. 

Kansas Legal Services (KLS) is a statewide law firm that serves individuals in every county in the State of Kansas. Kansas Legal Services is led by attorneys who are supported by well trained staff. KLS maintains two offices that serve areas within the boundaries of the United Way of this area. KLS maintains an office in Manhattan and Seneca. The Manhattan Office serves clients in Riley, Pottawatomie, Clay, Wabaunsee and Geary County. The Seneca Office serves clients in Marshall, Washington, Nemaha, Atchison, Brown, Doniphan and Jackson counties.
